Manchmal begegnen einem Aussagen, bei denen man nicht genau weiß, ob man sie überhaupt ernst nehmen soll. Dann fragt man sich, ob man darauf eingeht oder ob man es nicht doch lieber ignorieren soll.
Zwei Absätze in der FR kann man aber eigentlich nicht ignorieren. Vor allem wenn es um die Ankündigung der Huffington-Post geht, demnächst in den deutschen Markt einsteigen zu wollen. Hans Joachim Fuhrmann und Jakob Augstein beweisen zumindest, dass man Arroganz durchaus auch als Geschäftsmodell sehen kann:
„Grundsätzlich sind ausländische Verlage herzlich willkommen, wir haben allerdings auch Ansprüche an diejenigen, die im Club der deutschen Verleger mitspielen wollen“, sagt Hans Joachim Fuhrmann, Sprecher und Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung beim Bundesverband deutscher Zeitungsverleger (BDZV). Auch neue Online-Projekte werde der BDZV willkommen heißen. Ob in Deutschland noch Platz ist für eine Huffington Post, werde sich zeigen. „Absolutes Alleinstellungsmerkmal fast aller Zeitungen in Deutschland ist der professionelle Lokaljournalismus. Das muss die Huffington Post mit ihren Laienjournalisten erst mal hinkriegen“, sagt Fuhrmann.
Der gleichen Meinung ist Jakob Augstein, Verleger der Wochenzeitung der Freitag. „Ich sehe auf Anhieb keine Lücke für die Huffington Post“, sagte er bei DRadio Wissen. Augstein hält den deutschen Pressemarkt für den besten der Welt. Im Ausland seien durch das große Zeitungssterben Lücken entstanden, die es hier nicht gebe. So sei etwa zoomer.de, ein ambitioniertes Nachrichtenportal des Holtzbrinck-Verlags, nach nur einem Jahr wieder eingestellt worden.
Fast schon schockierend ist das nichtVerständnis, die Huffington Post mit dem Rohrkrepierer zoomer zu vergleichen. Eine missglückte deutsche Jugendzeitung mit einem der führenden Online-Medien der USA gleichzusetzen, zeugt entweder von Angst, Unwissen oder von fast unglaublicher Arroganz.
